Curriculum vitae

Camilo completed his BSc at the University of Antioquia (Colombia) with Dr Juan Felipe Blanco, where he worked in identifying the factors influencing the fish assemblage structure at multiple scales in the endangered tropical dry forest. He was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Master in Aquaculture, Environment and Society from the prestigious Erasmus+ programme, where he worked with Dr Eugenia Apostolaki in his dissertation addressing the impact of aquaculture on the subtidal macroalgae grazing dynamics using metabolomics and stable isotope tools. He has experience as a lecturer in river ecology, aquatic ecology and aquaculture consultant and as collection manager in a natural history museum. He is currently working with Dr Kathrin Lampert in the CRC1439 RESIST project, where he is investigating the response to anthropogenic stress from the population to the genetic level of the European bullhead (Cottus sp.) in the highly modified Emscher catchment.
